Salt mine in Bochnia

Salt mine in Bochnia

It is the oldest, continuously operating salt mine in Poland. Salt mining began there in the 13th century. Inside the mine, we can admire unique workings, chapels carved in salt rocks and original sculptures and mining equipment. In the mine, there is a spa where you can spend the night, a restaurant and a sports ground and playground for children. Since June 2013, the mine has been among the objects inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
