Bartne, Greek Catholic and Orthodox churches of Sts. Cosmas and Damian

It is worth visiting Bartne, as it is a village still inhabited mostly by Lemkos. There are two Orthdox churches here, both dedicated to the same saints. The Greek Catholic church, built in 1842, with shingled roofs and walls, houses a museum of Lemko church and folk art. The church merges with the landscape and looks very impressive. Inside, you will find an 18th century iconostasis. The newer, still active Orthodox church was built in the years 1928–29 and represents a different style. It has no towers, its walls are boarded and it is metal-roofed. The furnishings include a modern iconostasis with a tsar doorway that dates back to the times when the church was erected.
